4 star surf leader training - 6 & 7 March

Hi All,

I've just had a weekend come free for me and thought I might try and fit in another 4 star training before the CANI bursaries run out.

Probably Portrush, as that could suit most people, on Sat 6 and Sun 7 March. Maybe meet for an hour on Fri night to get some paperwork out of the way if people are available.

I might book a house if there's enough people on the course who want accommodation and this can act as a base for running the course.

Cost will be £140 per person (not inc accom or certification) with up to 50% bursary available from CANI - details on the CANI website.

Marty McCann (another L5 surf coach, Beach Lifeguard Trainer and world class waveski competitor) is coming along to assist so it should be a good course with a high coach to student ratio.

Pre-reqs: 16yrs or over and surfing at new 3 star (old 4 star) standard.

This is the course you need to do (plus assessment weekend) to lead groups of up to 6 in moderate surf conditions - ideal for club leaders and as an add on to new L2 coach (plus mod water endorsement) to be equivalent to old L3 surf coach. As such, most of the content is about leadership, safety, rescue, etc. There is some skills coaching but not much ...

I know it's short notice, so sorry about that. I thought I wouldn't have time to run another 4 star training before the bursary deadline but I'm keen to give people the opportunity to get a reduced price course.

I need six people to make the course viable, so if you know of anyone else, please forward this on to them.
